The Africa Islamic Economic Forum (AFRIEF) is a pan-African ideological movement dedicated to dismantling the economic structures that have entrenched inequality, dependency, and dispossession across Africa. We reject the false choice between capitalism and socialism — two systems that, in different ways, have commodified human life, centralized power, and legitimized exploitation. Africa’s crisis is not merely technical; it is moral, structural, and civilizational. It demands not reform at the margins, but a fundamental rethinking of economic purpose, ownership, and power.
Africa stands at a historic turning point. For decades, its economic life has been shaped by systems conceived outside its moral, cultural, and historical experience. These systems promised prosperity but produced dependency, proclaimed equality yet entrenched new hierarchies, and pursued growth without justice, morality, or dignity.
Africa’s predicament is therefore not simply economic. It is civilizational — a crisis of imposed paradigms, borrowed standards, and external control over its intellectual and institutional destiny.
The Africa Islamic Economic Forum (AFRIEF) is an independent pan-African development and thought-leadership organization advancing Islamic Economics as a principled alternative to exploitative economic systems. Registered in the Republic of Ghana as a non-profit organization, AFRIEF is strategically positioned at the heart of Africa’s evolving socio-economic landscape, enabling deep regional engagement and continent-wide collaboration.
