Background

Africa, home to numerous IDB member countries, is a continent of immense potential and significant challenges. Inadequate infrastructure, underdeveloped industries, and limited access to finance for small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) remain critical barriers to achieving inclusive and sustainable economic growth. Development Finance Institutions (DFIs) are uniquely positioned to address these challenges. By mobilizing resources, supporting high-impact projects, and fostering innovation in financing mechanisms, DFIs play a pivotal role in enabling economic transformation across the region.

To further these efforts, the Africa Islamic Economic Forum (AFRIEF) in collaboration with the Association of National Development Finance Institutions in Member Countries of the Islamic Development Bank (ADFIMI) is organizing a virtual dialogue. This event will serve as a strategic platform for policymakers, development finance practitioners, and private-sector leaders to exchange ideas and strategies for leveraging DFIs to drive sustainable growth in ISDB member countries.
