Overview
Africa’s livestock sector holds immense potential for contributing to food security, economic development, and job creation. With one of the world’s fastest-growing populations, the continent is uniquely positioned to become a global hub for Halal meat production, processing, and export. However, despite its natural advantages, the sector remains underdeveloped due to challenges such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of standardization in Halal certification, and limited investment in value-added processing.
This virtual dialogue aims to convene stakeholders from government, the private sector, international organizations, and academia to discuss the strategies needed to unlock Africa’s Halal meat potential. By focusing on the livestock sector and Halal meat industry, the event seeks to create a roadmap for sustainable growth, job creation, and export competitiveness, while adhering to Islamic economic principles.
